And the Beat Goes On… – {Victoria Photographer}

On a trip to pick up my father-in-law over the weekend, we had a chance to spend some time hanging out near the water, one of my favourite places to be. Even when the weather is less than stellar, it’s beauty shines through:

There’s just something special to all of us (especially those who grew up next to the ocean) about being wave side and hearing the crashing, roiling surf. Though there was little crashing on this day, instead there was more of a quiet coolness peppered by the occasional bird call.

Although, I admit, I grew up on an island surrounded by ocean, I think I might like to experience life somewhere more inland. I’d love to live somewhere spectacular like Banff or even somewhere exotic, like Monaco. Dreams are what inspire us right?

I especially like the sound of Banff after seeing photos such as those from the lovely Orange Girl Photographs. Such an inspiration.

The one thing that always stops me is the speed at which spring returns to Vancouver Island, especially the southern portion. Here, we are already experiencing the signs of spring. Flowers, buds, green, it’s all around us. I found these snowdrops in the garden last week. The crocuses are out and soon will be cherry blossoms and other wonderfully photogenic spring foliage.

With the arrival of spring comes the seasons I cherish most, especially for photographing outside, my specialty.

I’m more than excited about the prospect of this new life and career I’ve jumped headlong into. Let’s see what happens next.
