My passion for photography began as a way to express emotion and artful creativity at a time in my life when everything was changing. Having two beautiful children who were irresistibly adorable only amplified that passion into what it is today. I had a great need to learn to photograph them in beautiful ways. I craved the knowledge of everything about photography, including editing styles, lenses, lighting, design, composition, etc. I spent large parts of the day learning about my camera and taking way too many shots of my kids, and my friends kids, and their pets, and...

Having been born on Vancouver Island to a pair of hippie parents that eventually settled in a small logging and fishing community, I have a great love of all things West coast, except rain, because I might melt. Something I recently learned about Vancouver Island is it's abundance of wonderful food, wine, beer, etc. For a large part of my adult life, I had been expressing myself through baking, sautéing and roasting any and every type of food. When that marriage of passions (food + photography) consummated, Guilty Kitchen (my food blog) was born. After learning even more about myself through the aperture of each successive lens, my true passion for creating art shone through.Currently located in the Cowichan Valley, I cover all of southern Vancouver Island for any of your photographic needs. Weddings, engagements, maternity, newborn, family and pets.

Garnett Wren Photography is the actualization of a dream, a dream to capture all of life's beauty as art and share it with others. My passion for capturing emotions in photographs has brought me to this place in my life and now I want to share that with you. My style can be described as modern, romantic and emotional. I try to keep things as photojournalistic as possible, but sometimes a little posing is necessary. What I strive for most is to capture your unique story in every photo.

{Robyn + Ole} Engaged! – Victoria BC Photographer

Yesterday I had the awesome pleasure to shoot my first engagement session. I was super nervous to get started after having to cancel the shoot the weekend previous due to inclement weather.

I had everything ready to go including a shot list that I had written up to make sure I stayed on track. I also brought my lovely ~~assistant~~ husband to pack my bags and help me along the way. We decided an urban shoot would fit their styles better and made our way into the heart of downtown Victoria, BC. There’s no shortage of alleyways, windows, shops, and roads to add that gritty “look” to your shot, so off we went.

These two couldn’t have been cuter and were super willing and helpful to do all the silly little things I asked them to do, including sitting down in some rather unclean looking spots to get that “shot”. I had a great time and I learned a lot.

To Robyn and Ole, you two were fabulous and thank you so much for being my willing subjects. I hope you have even more fun in your futures together as you had yesterday shooting with me. I wish you nothing but the best of luck and all the happiness you can stand. Congratulations!
